Joel & Kevin (of Jagged Little Pills)

Joel Ackerson (vocals/guitar/mandolin) with close friend Kevin Brunet (vocals/bass), noticing a local shortage of 90s music, decided it was time to unapologetically bask in the nostalgia of their favorite musical decade. Their live shows have been known to prompt full-venue sing-alongs and spontaneous dancing. From Alanis Morissette (of course) to STP, Dave Matthews Band to Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers to TLC, they’ve got you covered. They love the nineties as much as you do and they want you to come bask with them!

Rick Bowden

Born and raised on Long Island Rick began playing guitar in the early 70’s at the age of sixteen. After a couple years playing acoustic, he met up with another guitarist and started playing duo gigs at local coffee houses and wine and cheese cafes and playing contemporary folk-rock. His songs consisted of groups like America, Crosby Sills and Nash, Simon and Garfunkel, Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Denver etc.

In 1981, he moved to Nevada and has played in many bands over the years and was the front man of most of those bands, playing both acoustic and electric guitars, and singing both folk rock and classic rock.

About 20 years ago he decided I wanted to dive into country and was introduced to Rick Hays and his band, Rick Hays and American Steel, a local country/country rock band. He has been playing with Rick ever since and has been both rhythm and lead guitarist as well as singing lead and backup vocals over the years. He is now looking to share his playing and singing talents as a soloist playing a combination of my early folk-rock days and more recent country classics.

Chris Reed (from The Kilowatt Hours)

Chris Reed (from The Kilowatt Hours)

Born in Mississippi, Christopher John Reed grew up steeped in the sounds of the South—where blues was less a genre and more a way of life. From an early age, he absorbed the storytelling tradition of country, the grit of Delta blues, and the intimacy of folk, blending them into a style that feels both timeless and fresh.

His music carries the weight of the South’s musical heritage, yet his voice and guitar work stretch beyond tradition, weaving soulful phrasing with modern lyricism. Audiences often remark that Reed’s sound falls somewhere between the raspy soul of roots singers and the smooth, melodic craftsmanship of contemporary troubadours—though he has carved out a tone and style that are uniquely his own.

On stage, Reed commands attention not with flash, but with authenticity. His songs move easily from raw, blues-soaked laments to soaring ballads that reveal a softer vulnerability. Whether he’s fronting a band or performing alone with his guitar, Reed’s performances invite listeners into a deeply personal space, leaving them with melodies that linger long after the last note fades.

Carrying forward the traditions that shaped him while pushing into new territory, Christopher John Reed stands as a modern Southern voice—rooted, resonant, and rising.

Doug (Dawger) Schwartz is a legend in these parts. Not only does he have ski runs named after him at Kirkwood (from his ski patroller days), but he’s also a killer guitarist, vocalist, performer and all around stellar dude. He’s one of the very first people that Ike started playing with when he moved to Tahoe in 2007, and Ike still likes to sit in with Doug when he can. Don’t miss Doug and his crew at The Pink House. He’s a great Americana addition for us, and we are glad to have him.
